A patient financial services counselor will follow up with you as appropriate.

If you are experiencing difficulty in making payments for your healthcare, you may qualify for financial assistance. Financial counselors will work with you to determine your level of eligibility and/or set up a convenient payment plan.

Price Transparency

How much will I be charged? Use our patient payment estimator tool to obtain an estimate of what your out-of-pocket hospital charges will be, based on your insurance coverage, or call 843-522-5015.

As part of our price transparency efforts, Beaufort Memorial Hospital also makes available a machine-readable listing of gross charges, negotiated charges by payer and minimum and maximum negotiated charges for different diagnoses (MS-DRG), procedures, services and products. These charges may not be what you, as a patient, or your insurance carrier will be billed, therefore we recommend patients use the estimator tool above or call patient financial services to get an estimate of out-of-pocket charges.

How to Avoid "Surprise" Medical Bills

Offering the most complete array of medical services requires Beaufort Memorial Hospital to contract with a variety of area physicians and services. Some of these services will be “in-network” or “out-of-network” based on your insurance plan.

Your insurance plan may not cover the providers listed below. You will receive a separate bill from them if they provide a service to you while you are in our facilities. Please contact them directly if you have questions or concerns.

Check ahead!

Avoid “surprise” bills by checking ahead before receiving scheduled services. There are two ways to do this:

1. Check with your insurance company to see which physicians are “in-network.”
2. Check with the physician’s office to see if they are “in-network” with your insurance.
