Voting From the Hospital
Any registered voter who has been admitted as an emergency patient on Election Day or within the four-days prior to an election, is entitled to an absentee ballot.
To participate in absentee voting, an immediate family member of the patient must contact the voter registration office in the county that the voter is registered to obtain an absentee ballot application. After completing the application, the family member can receive the ballot and deliver it personally to the patient to vote. That family member must personally deliver the voted ballot back to the county board of voter registration and elections before 7:00 p.m. on election day.

A member of the immediate family of a person who is admitted to a hospital as an emergency patient on the day of an election or within a four-day period before the election may obtain an application from the board on the day of an election, complete it, receive the ballot, deliver it personally to the patient who shall vote, and personally carry the ballot back to the board of voter registration and elections. An immediate family member includes a spouse, parent, child, brother, sister, grandparents, grandchildren, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law. (7-15-310 (8))
