Speech Therapy Services

Our team of speech therapists use the latest technology to make a diagnosis, then work with you to create a personalized care plan, which may include:

  • Exercises that strengthen the muscles used in speaking and swallowing
  • Exercises that strengthen the vocal cords and improve voice quality
  • Electrical stimulation (also known as e-stim), including VitalStim Therapy, to help retrain the muscles responsible for swallowing
  • Connecting you to other resources and technology that may be available, including augmentative or alternative communication devices (AACs), picture communication boards and electronic speech generating devices
  • Hearing aids or cochlear implants

We also offer several specialty programs, including:

  • Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LVST): Helps improve loudness, articulation, tone and voice quality for patients with Parkinson's disease and other neurological conditions.
  • VitalStim Therapy: Helps patients who suffer from dysphagia (a condition that often arises after a stroke or brain injury) improve their swallowing ability through electrical stimulation. This innovative technology uses electrical current to stimulate motor nerves and gradually retrain muscle groups to swallow.
